In 2014, the Department of Occupational Medicine at Kaohsiung Veterans General Hospital was established, and clinic of occupational injury was opened to assist workers in the Kaohsiung and Pingtung areas in conducting occupational injury assessments and identifications.
In 2015, we provided on-site services for companies to ensure the safety and health of workers and prevent occupational injuries and diseases.
In 2016, our occupational nurses entered the wards and emergency rooms to conduct occupational hazard case visits, assessments and health education. In the same year, we took over a project from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration of the Ministry of Labor to help workers with occupational injuries return to the workplace through job analysis, functional capacity evaluation, physical or psychological work hardening, etc.
In 2023, we became the specialized hospital for occupational injury diagnosis and treatment and occupational injury functional rehabilitation recognized by the Ministry of Labor. We also integrated our resources to establish an Occupational Injury and Disease Integration Service Center to provide comprehensive, efficient and professional services, the One-Stop to Help All-Labors (OSHA) in Taiwan.
