The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Kaohsiung Veterans General Hospital has been providing comprehensive women's healthcare services since 1990. Under the leadership of successive department heads - Dr. Wan-Yi Chien, Dr. Chien-Min Yu, Dr. Wen-Shiung Liou, and Dr. Kuan-Hao Tsui - we have made significant progress in gynecology, obstetrics, and reproductive endocrinology. We continually introduce and implement new technologies, including various endoscopic surgeries, Da Vinci robotic surgery, 3D laparoscopic surgery, and HIFU, to provide high-quality medical services. Our tradition of excellence in gynecologic oncology was established by Dr. Wan-Yi Chien and further developed by Dr. Wen-Shiung Liou. Dr. Chien-Min Yu pioneered urogynecology, establishing urodynamics facilities and developing related diagnostic and surgical treatments. In obstetrics, under the leadership of Dr. Fu-Nan Cho, and Dr. An-Jen Chiang, we have become a referral center for high-risk pregnancies. We actively fulfill our role as a medical center by managing complex obstetric cases from regional hospitals to enhance maternal and fetal safety. The Reproductive Medicine Center, led by Dr. Kuan-Hao Tsui, was renovated in 2009 with state-of-the-art facilities, including specialized air conditioning and filtration systems, temperature-controlled operation rooms, and advanced micromanipulation equipment. In 2018, we established an independent reproductive center with elegant facilities and consultation spaces, becoming a leading center in southern Taiwan.
